Terms of Service
Effective date: 10 June 2026
Please read these Terms carefully before using the Ano platform. By creating an account or using any part of our service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and Ano ("Ano", "we", "us"), the operator of the Ano event management platform accessible at ano.in and related applications (the "Platform").
By registering an account or using any part of the Platform you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
2. Definitions
- Creator — a registered user who plans, manages, and publishes events on the Platform.
- Vendor / Artisan — a registered business or individual offering goods or services to Creators.
- Guest — a person who receives a digital invitation and uses the Platform to RSVP or view event content.
- Event — a celebration or occasion created and managed by a Creator on the Platform.
- Content — any text, images, video, audio, or other material uploaded or generated on the Platform.
3. Platform Description
Ano is a three-sided marketplace connecting Creators planning celebrations with Vendors offering related goods and services, and Guests attending events. Ano acts as an intermediary technology provider and is not a party to contracts between Creators and Vendors unless expressly stated.
The Platform is in early access. Features, pricing, and availability may change as we develop the product. Significant changes will be communicated in advance.
4. Eligibility
To use the Platform you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have the legal capacity to enter a binding contract under Indian law.
- Not be prohibited from using the Platform under any applicable law or regulation.
Vendors must additionally hold any licences, registrations, or permits required by applicable law to offer their listed goods and services.
5. Account Registration
You must register an account to access most Platform features. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your details updated.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@ano.in if you suspect unauthorised access.
6. Creator Terms
6.1 Event Creation
Creators are solely responsible for the accuracy of event details and for complying with all applicable laws governing gatherings, venue permissions, and data handling for invitees.
6.2 Guest Invitations
When sending digital invitations you confirm you have obtained appropriate consent from recipients under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and other applicable law.
6.3 Vendor Engagement
Any contract for goods or services formed between a Creator and a Vendor is directly between those parties. Ano is not responsible for Vendor performance or service quality.
6.4 Content Licence
You retain ownership of Content you upload. By uploading Content you grant Ano a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and deliver that Content as necessary to operate the Platform.
7. Vendor (Artisan) Terms
7.1 Listing Accuracy
Vendors must ensure service listings are accurate, current, and comply with all applicable consumer protection laws in India, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
7.2 Fulfilment
Vendors are solely responsible for fulfilling accepted orders to the standard described in their listing. Persistent failure to fulfil may result in suspension from the Platform.
7.3 Platform Fees
Ano may charge a commission or listing fee on transactions. Current fee schedules will be communicated before they apply. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of new or increased fees.
7.4 Tax Compliance
Vendors are responsible for their own tax obligations, including GST registration and filing, arising from sales made through the Platform.
8. Guest Terms
Guests may view event details, RSVP, and interact with event Content at no charge. Guests must not share private event links with uninvited individuals. Ano is not responsible for any obligations arising from a Guest's RSVP.
9. Content and Intellectual Property
All Ano trademarks, logos, and original Platform software are the property of Ano and may not be used without prior written consent.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to upload any Content you post, and that such Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property right. We will respond to valid takedown notices under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
10. Payments and Fees
Integrated online payments for Vendor services are not yet active. When payment functionality is enabled, we will publish a separate Payments Policy covering transaction processing, refunds, disputes, and applicable charges.
Until then, financial arrangements between Creators and Vendors are made independently of the Platform, and Ano accepts no liability in connection with such arrangements.
11. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use the Platform to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Transmit Content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, or infringes third-party rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or another user's account.
- Engage in scraping, data mining, or automated data collection without consent.
- Send unsolicited communications (spam) to other users or Guests.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
- Introduce malware or other harmful code to the Platform.
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
12.1 "As Is" Disclaimer
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
12.2 Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Ano's aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to Ano in the 3 months preceding the event, or ₹1,000, whichever is greater. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
13. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting legal@ano.in. We will process your request within 30 days and delete your personal data per our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately for breach of these Terms, conduct harmful to other users, or as required by law. Sections 9, 11, 12, and 14 survive termination.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall first be referred to mediation. If mediation fails within 60 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
15. General Provisions
- Severability. If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
- Waiver. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
- Entire Agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement regarding the Platform.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights without our written consent.
